Smith Professor Paula Giddings’ biography of Ida B. Wells has just been named a finalist for the biography prize of the National Book Critics Circle

When: Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 6:30pm

Where: Alliance-Bernstein Headquarters, 1345 Avenue of the Americas (building is on 6th Avenue and between 55th and 54th Street).  Take the 1 train to 51st and Broadway or B or D train to 57th Street, exit at 55th Street, west side of street.

Topic: Though the Heavens May Fall: Modernity and the Campaign Against Lynching

How to Get a Book? Hue Man Booksellers of Harlem, will handle the book signing at the event.

BASC members and friends of all backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

Cost: The catered affair will cost $10 for BASC/NYC Smith Club Members and $25 for guests.
